Long weekend TBR

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! I’m very excited today, because I have a long weekend ahead! From Thursday to Sunday this week I will be off work because of the Ascension day long weekend, and since I don’t have anywhere to go to, and no plans for these four days, I’ve decided to try and read as much as I can. I also need to increase my reading count, because so far I’m not a book ahead in my Goodreads reading challenge, even though for the past first months I was several books ahead of schedule. It’ll be really great if I can catch up and be ahead of schedule again!

TBR

These are the books I’m planning to read this weekend:

  1. Blood, Sweat and Pixels by Jason Schreir – an audiobook I still have not finished, but I hope to finish by the weekend.
  2. Rainbirds by Clarissa Goenawan – I started this book a couple of days ago and am quite liking it, so far it isn’t amazing, but okay.
  3. My Sister, The Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite – a book I need to pick up at the library and I’m super eager to read.

Daily Plans

weekday (4)

For my first day off I plan on spending the whole day reading, because I absolutely have no plans at all. I might also go out to the centrum, visit the library and browse for some books, or sit in a cafe and read and blog if the weather is nice. However I’ll see how my mood is throughout the day.

I hope to go outside on Friday and visit Leiden, to a bookshop that has a lot of English books for really cheap. I mentioned this “warehouse” bookshop before in the blog, it’s calle Boekenzolder and their concept is that you can pick up whatever books you want and you can pay them any amount of money you see fit. I think it’s a lovely place, lots of selection, though a little bit far from the city center. I’m also looking forward to donating some of my books to them, just to return the favour, because I took quite a lot of books last time I was there.

Meanwhile I plan on listening to an audiobook during the 30 minute train and bus ride to the location, and hopefully be able to get more reading done in the evening! Maybe even stop by for a cup of coffee in a cozy cafe in the city center, if again the weather permits.

weekday (6)

On Saturday I really hope I can just stay at home all day. I really am in need of a full day off, doing nothing, reading in my bed with a mug of tea, and maybe taking pictures of books for my blog. Additionally if I’m in the mood, I might decide to bake some cookies or a cake when I’m bored. I might also pop in a movie that I want to watch, for example one of the movies I listed in the films I want to watch soon post.

Other than that, dinner with friends, maybe chilling in the evening with some drinks at home, and then straight to bed!

weekday (7)

Sundays I’m usually out and about, starting with church in the morning, and then lunch together with my friends in the city. Afterwards I pretty much have another full day off, which I can spend either reading at home, in another cafe, or I might get really bored and just hang out with friends at the city center and not read at all. We’ll see! It’s not a very strict readathon or anything, so I’m not pushing myself too much to read every single day.

Then, back to work on Monday! What do you usually do on long weekends? Any goals for the weekend ahead? Let’s talk in the comments down below!
