Bookish naughty or nice Tag

Hello everyone and MERRY CHRISTMAS to those of you who celebrate! Though I might be a little late for this tag, I was tagged and really liked the quickness of the tag and how fun it is. I consider myself quite naughty when taking care of my books as a child, so let’s just jump straight into the questions!

Thank you to Jenna @ Bookmark Your Thoughts for tagging me 🙂

#1. Received an ARC and not reviewed it ✔

So very guilty! I have tons of unread and unreviewed ARCs in my NetGalley account. That’s why I’m doing a readathon to lower that count and increase my review count!

#2. Have less than 60% feedback rating on NetGalley

Nope, I currently have a feedback rating of 69% 😉

#3. Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did).

I don’t think I ever did that! I usually make the full review on Goodreads, and then post the individual reviews or the shortened version in my blog. So it’s the opposite way around!

#4. Folded down the page of a book ✔

I’m very naughty about this… but I don’t feel guilty at all! Ever since I was little, I would fold down the edge of a page where I would find a quotable passage or an important moment in the book. That way when I’m in the mood for a reread but do not have the time to do so, I’ll just visit the pages I marked.

#5. Accidentally spilled on a book ✔

I remember in high school, I borrowed a paperback from my friend and spilled something I was eating on the pages (I forgot what food it was but I remember it was chocolatey, but not really liquid). I never told my friend about that, sorry!!!! 😦

#6. DNF a book this year ✔

Yepppp, I have DNF tons of books this year and throughout my life. Life’s just too short to read books I’m not in the mood to read. One most recent one is The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon – either I’m just not in the right time or place for it, or the book is just wasn’t for me.

#7. Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it

Never!!!! I would often buy a book because it was pretty and because of the cover, without knowing what it’s about, but I will definitely read it someday.

#8. Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework) ✔

Definitely. Often I would be reading when I should be getting ready for work, or sleeping, or homework… Not sorry at all!

#9. Skim read a book ✔

I remember only doing this once, since usually I’d just DNF the book if I felt like skimming it. And the book I skimmed on the last 200 pages or so was Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, cause by the end I really didn’t like the book and just wanted it to be over with.

#10. Completely missed your Goodreads goal ✔

I don’t know why this is considered naughty, since a lot can happen in a year and things don’t go as planned and it’s okay, but I did not complete my Goodreads reading challenge two years ago by 2 books, and I was totally okay with it 🙂

#11. Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library

NEVER!!! I love the library!

#12. Broke a book buying ban

I never do a book buying ban, in general I rarely buy books anyways (hence why you never see me posting book hauls) – so no ban means no breaking it, either.

#13. Started a review, left it for ages, and forgot what the book was about

Hmmm… I don’t think I’ve ever done that.

#14. Wrote in a book you were reading ✔

Does naming the book and writing down the date and location of where you bought it count? Cause I try to always do that to all my books.

#15. Finished a book and not add it to your Goodreads.

Ever since I first discovered Goodreads in middle school, I don’t think I’ve ever missed adding a read book in the site! I love the site and am very religious about logging my books now 😀

#16. Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend.

I don’t think so… I’m a person true to her word 😉

#17. Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book.

Why would you? I love lending people my books, and although they would sometimes now read it, not like it, or not return it, I’ll still happily lend my books to anyone.

#18. Broke the spine of someone else’s book

Nope, I only do that to my own books 😉

#19. Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged

Don’t remember ever damaging a naked hardback…

#20. Sat on a book accidentally

Nope!

Final score: 8/20

Wow, it turns out I’m not so naughty after all! Bookish Santa please give me presents ❤

In case you guys still want to do the tag, go ahead and do it! But I won’t tag anyone cause you are all probably on holiday and would not plan to do this tag anyway. Till next time everyone!

  1. This is such a fun tag! I’ve been seeing it everywhere 😊 I do a lot of these things, but I never feel guilty about it — for example, I annotate my books and dog-ear them (only the books that I own though) because I feel like that adds a little bit of me in the book. If anyone else picks up my books in the future, they’ll probably have a lot of fun reading the annotations 😋
