Hi all, hope you are having a lovely day. Today it’s time to scroll back through my movies list of 2018 and see the top movies that I watched this year. This time I would like to also focus on only 2018 releases, mainly because I have watched quite a lot of them and so I am able to really see which ones are my own personal favourites. Let’s get on with the movies!

Notable Mentions
There are tons of other movies I watched this year that might make the list if it was released in 2018. And so here are some notable mentions of movies I highly enjoyed that I watched in 2018 for the first time but were not released this year.
#10. BlackKKlansman
An important movie that is not only serious, thrilling, and exciting, but also funny at times. It was acted amazingly and the script is really well-written, though a little slow in pace at times.
#9. Ready Player One
Though I have not read the book of this super famous sci-fi YA story, I highly enjoyed the movie. It’s fun, had excellent special effects, and amazing world building. It’s very colorful and keeps you glued to the screen, and every scene was orchestrated wonderfully.
#8. Deadpool 2
Can’t help but add in this hilarious movie here! It’s such a fun watch with your friends. There are some twists that I didn’t expect either, and of course the characters are great fun and joy.
#7. Christopher Robin
Although I’ve read some mixed reviews of this movie, as someone who grew up with Pooh and his friends, this movie was a ride to the past. It’s heartwarming, cute, but also not a copy paste of the original movies. It’s perfect for kids and adults alike with a surprisingly large amount of humour. I was brought to happy tears by this movie, and what else do you want from a film?
#6. Black Panther
My favourite Marvel movie of the year, yay! It’s of course one of the most highest rated movie by other people as well, but I found it full of depth, with excellent characters, a very intriguing plot, amazing fight scenes, and great world building. Captivating and exciting.
#5. I Am Not an Easy Man
A very recent watch, this French movie is thought-provoking but at the same time funny and warm. It’s quite modern and has a great message, and additionally it has a very fun plot with great characters.
#4. Isle of Dogs
I am a huge Wes Anderson fan ever since I watched Moonrise Kingdom for the first time in high school. This newest release by him is a stop-motion movie about dogs, one of my favourite animals! It’s adorable, unique, fun, hilarious, and so well written. I love the element of dogs and the cuteness of it all, but also the fact that it is set in Japan.
#3. Hereditary
This amazingly scary movie is probably the movie with images that would haunt me for days, even weeks after watching it. It’s suspenseful, thrilling, deep and dark, but also with plot twists and a message behind it. It’s so so unique and creepy, and the acting is just amazing. I was tense throughout the entire movie, and that is a sign of a good horror movie.
#2. Ocean’s Eight
This all-women cast of intelligent and sophisticated women doing a heist is a huge enjoying watch. It’s super fun, exciting, and you cannot stop watching throughout the entire movie.
#1. A Quiet Place
My favourite film in 2018! Though I didn’t watch it in the cinemas, it’s such a good movie. It’s full of suspense, but also has a theme of family and survival. The world is so unique and everyone’s acting is amazing. It is definitely not for everyone, but I love suspenseful and thrilling movies and this dark scary film is perfection.
What are your favourite films that you watched (or came out) this year?
I haven’t seen all of these, but you picked some great ones! I absolutely loved The Quiet Place, too. I did see it in theaters, and it was so worth it. Mostly because my house is rarely quiet, and I think it would freak me out.

Oooooh I thought I wouldn’t like watching A Quiet Place in the theaters, cause there’ll be so much noise from all the popcorn and people breathing :”D

No one made a sound. Even I stopped drinking my soda when the movie started because the ice was loud. A guy a few rows in front of me spent like 20 minutes unwrapping his food very slowly to not make noise. And one lady walked in talking five minutes late, and the entire theater shushed her. It was a cool experience.

I expected Christopher Robin to be creepy just because they made Pooh look like a teddy bear that’s been through the wash a few too many times- but it was humorous just like you said and I really enjoyed it 🙂

Oh yea. Quiet Place was such a good movie. Watching it at the theater made me realize just how quiet a good bit of the movie is. I still need to watch Blackklansman and Black Panther is of course one of my top movies of the year. I keep forgetting that it came out this year.

Nice list! It was an unbelievably good year for horror. I also loved both Hereditary and A Quiet Place, but I also enjoyed Unsane (2018), and today I will hopefully watch The Stranger (2018).
